Number of Ambient Air Quality Monitors:
The number of permanent air monitors that provide data about ambient air quality to the TNRCC. Some are state-run, while others are run by local government, private industry or the federal government. This number links to a page that list the air quality monitors in the county.  This list then links to each monitors TNRCC web page

Attainment Status for National Ambient Air Quality Standard for Ozone (1 Hour), 2002:
Nonattainment areas have not achieved compliance with 1-hour ozone standard as designated by EPA. Near nonattainment areas are likely to be designated non-attainment for 8-hour ozone standard. Attainment counties comply with all ozone standards.

Number of Power Plants, 2002:
Maximum Capacity of Power Plants, 2002: (Kilowatts)
The number of power plants includes those power plants already constructed which were either operating or partially in-service during 2000.
Maximum capacity in megawatts of all electric generating units located in a county which were either in commercial operation or in-service for part of 2000. The capacity represents the amount of energy that could be generated, not actual sales.

Additional Cancer Risk Due to Hazardous Air Pollutants (Per 1,000,000 people):
the estimated individual risk of getting cancer due to a lifetime exposure to outdoor hazardous air pollutants. Note that cancer risk estimates are calculations based on models - they are useful for ranking purposes but are not necessarily predictive of any actual individual's risk of getting cancer.
Because the Clean Air Act's goal is to reduce lifetime cancer risks from hazardous air pollutants to one in one million, Scorecard expresses added cancer risk in these units: an added risk of 550 per 1,000,000, for example, is 550 times higher than the Clean Air Act goal.
