Create printable maps of environmental and geographic data. The on-line mapping system has been grouped into the following three themes:

Water Quantity and Water Quality

Land and Wildlife and Biodiversity

Air, Energy, and Waste

These maps are best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Netscape may not load the page correctly or have all mapping functions available.

Mapper Instructions

The mapping system used by Texas Environmental Profiles is based on the concept of data layers. The layers available for each theme are to the left of the map. To view a specific layer check the box next to it marked "Visible", make sure no layer in the list above the desired layer is marked "Visible", and then click the "Redraw Map" button.

Other Tools:

 

Zooms in on the map area surrounding the click location.

Zooms out from the map area surrounding the click location.

Allows the map to be moved.

Zooms the map out to a full view of the state of Texas

 

 

Opens a window with legend data for all visiblew layers.

Turns the small map in the upper left corner of the larger map on and off.

 

 

Returns a table with data from the Active layer.  Please note that if the active layer is also not made visible this feature will not work.  To make a layer Active and Visible, select the appropriate boxes and click the redraw map button.

Creates a new page in a format ideal for printing or image capturing.
